The FRP awards were originally presented from 1976 to 1996, and revived last year. The website for the FRP awards: https://www.frankwuwrites.net/frank-r-paul-awards

Frank R. Paul was the first great science fiction artist, as he painted all the covers for the first few years of Amazing Stories, the first science fiction magazine. These include his famous covers for “The War of the Worlds” and “The Land that Time Forgot”. For decades, he was the go-to artist for Hugo Gernsback, also working with him on Wonder StoriesScience Wonder StoriesScience Fiction Plus and annual Christmas magazines that Gernsback published. A fun factoid about FRP: He was the first person to make a living drawing aliens, robots and spaceships (what could be cooler than that?).

Judges this year were Frank Wu, Brianna Wu, Linda Pierce and Eliza Engle (FRP’s granddaughter).

NOTE: While the FRP Awards rule state that normally only 2 nominees are allowed from the same magazine, in this case there are 3 nominees from Uncanny due to a tie. There is no limit to the numbers for honorable mentions.
